I was dubbed "The Headache Slayer" after one of my clients came in with so much pain she could hardly walk. Ater one hour, we deactivated trigger points, got blood flow back in chronically tight tissues and appeased the nervous system. She came out of session and said, "You killed it, you are the headache slayer!" ...it stuck.
I have lived in Raleigh a good deal of my life. In 1986, I graduated from Warren Wilson College with a BA Degree in Fine Arts. I use to borrow friends' biology and anatomy books to help me with my life drawings when I couldn't get models. I taught fitness classes for my community service project which helped me get to know the human body even more. It seemed working with the body was definitely in my future.
After years of life and work experiences, I completed the 650-hour Massage Therapy Program from The Body Therapy Institute (www.massage.net), passed the national certification for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and then licensed to practice in NC in 2004.
My goal is to assist my clients on their quest for wellness. If you are looking for ways to make your quality of life just a little better, then I am the massage therapist that will empower you to do so. Schedule your session today, my office is professional, clean and relaxing. Nobody deserves to be in pain.
When I'm not at the massage table, I enjoy being in my gardens or at the craft table. Other interests I have are hooping, fire performance arts, SCUBA diving, motorcycling, cooking, volunteering with the AMTA, traveling and simply enjoying life!
